Larry Bird

Since PBA is on a break. Let’s dig some video on some of the most recognizable player in the history of basketball.

Larry Bird, one of the greatest basketball player to ever played the game. He’s been breaking ankles even before they invented the term ankle breaker, shooting threes like its a layup for him and even before Stephen Curry was born.

He is also one of the nastiest trash talker in the NBA. The video also highlights the Celtics – Lakers or Bird – Magic rivalry, which I consider as the best rivalry in the NBA history. Since both Celtics and the Lakers are the two most storied franchises in the NBA.

San Miguel wins 3rd straight Philippine Cup title, holds off Ginebra

Philippine Daily Inquirer;

San Miguel Beer held off Barangay Ginebra, 91-85, in Game 5 of their best-of-seven championship series to win its third straight PBA Philippine Cup title Sunday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Barangay Ginebra just did not have enough wind to extend the series. All starters look tired and anemic, could be from the 2 grueling series that they need to go through to reach the finals; they needed to beat Alaska twice, then a 7 game series against the Star Hotshot.

Even if they win game 5, they still need to win 3 in a row to beat SMB, which is highly unlikely. Congratulations to the San Miguel Beermen for winning the 2017 PBA All Filipino Cup!

San Miguel fends off Ginebra, closes in on PBA PH Cup crown

Randolph B. Leongson, writing for Philippine Daily Inquirer;

San Miguel caught fire early and fended off Ginebra’s late rally to pull off the 94-85 victory and move a win away from snaring the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

I watched the replay of Game 4 and SMB’s lead was too large for them (Ginebra) to take the lead. It also shows that the Gin Kings are exhausted from the last do-or-die 2 series that they need to over come.

Expecting Game 5 today to be a war between these sister company.

Kings draw even after two games

PBA;

Blowing away a 26-point bubble and falling behind entering the home stretch, the Barangay Ginebra Kings had looked goners.

But Joe Devance scored in the nick of time to force overtime and the Gin Kings found a way to deny the San Miguel Beermen from moving within two wins of a PBA Philippine Cup three-peat.

To the delight of majority of the full-house crowd at the Quezon Convention Center here, the Kings didn’t run out of heroes in the extra period as they smothered the Beermen, 124-118, to draw even after two games of the best-of-seven finale. They break the tie in Game Three at 7p.m. Wednesday over at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

No article can tell you how exciting the tight game 2 was. The crowd at the Quezon Convention Center got their money’s worth and probably more.
